Pykonik | Tech Talks #83

We're happy to announce another Pykonik Tech Talks event! This time we welcome you at a new venue in the spaces of ECHO Miasta (Kapelanka 56)!

How to find us?

DO NOT enter the shopping mall!
Go around the building's left side and look for the gokarting track entrance.
Standing in front of the rotating door, look to the left and find Pykonik's logo on the door, this is the door leading to us!
Go onto the 2nd floor using the elevator or the staircase.

You can also expect lightning talks - up to ~5 min talks that anyone can give on pretty much any topic!

During the lectures, starting from 18:00, the bar at the venue will be available just for us. After the presentations are finished, we're staying for the afterparty/networking part of the meetup at the venue.

Docker and FastMCP. How to build reliable MCP Server in minutes.

MCP Servers took the world by storm almost overnight.

In this hands-on talk we go through all elements needed for a functional application. We will build it using UpCloud as the infrastructure layer, Docker as orchestration, using the MCP Toolkit and Docker Model Runner. And finally, the Python library FastMCP.

Big AI is lying to you. The popular knowledge about LLM's and AI in general is serving us with mix of folk lore tales of tech CEO, half-baked truths sprinkled with trust-me-bro benchmarked science, glased in public neophobia (fear of the new). This talk will be highly opinionated, yet I will make my best effort to distinguish facts and knowledge based on state-of-the art AI research from those opinions. Are LLM's non-deterministic? Is AI safe? Will it skynet? Should you be worried about your job?
